作为首位获得英国玻璃艺术博士学位的中国艺术家，以及中国玻璃工作室运动的先锋，是坚持不懈、系统的努力研究成就了薛吕博士2004年至2013年的“凝墨”、“凝霜”、“凝器”和“凝景”系列作品。植根于中国的文化传统，嫁接在西方与远东的审美情结，将玻璃艺术雄心般地开拓延伸至建筑的规模尺度，薛吕博士的玻璃艺术作品已经被国际藏家收藏，认真赢得了国际学界的认可，并蓄势待发，为中国的建筑空间设计运用玻璃材料开创新的天地。

Something appears determinedly systematic about the research that underpins Dr. Xue’s work from 2004 to 2013 (Ink, Snow, Vessel and Landscape Series). As the first Chinese scholar to receive a doctoral degree in glass art in the UK, she is a pioneer of the studio glass movement in China. Dr. Xue’s work is historically grounded in the Chinese tradition, aesthetically tuned to a Far Eastern sensibility, and architectural in its scale of ambition. It is already collected internationally and poised to develop new possibilities for interior architectural spatial design in Chinese glass.
