2nd Breath
2015
Poetic and fascinating objects, that each bubble magnifies its support by its fortuitous presence, reminders of the unexpected surprises of life. The steel structures call to mind their ambiguous presence in space. They are geometric, but asymmetrical. They are stable, but seem precariously unbalanced. They are voluminous but look like flattened graphics.
Glass is a material which flows freely and freezes according to its desires; these blown glass bubbles appropriate their supports and play with them to bring their soul and a certain naivety. This interaction increases the structures’ statures, but glass bubbles are also dependent on their support, without which they could not exist.

Damien Ummel and Thierry Didot, Industrial Designers HES, founded Atelier Peekaboo in 2008.They share various references through their works. Far from the contemporary industrial design world, they get their influences from music, books, art, and the different cultures they’ve experienced. Desirous to take an active part in the whole process of each new product creation, they make it a point to step in the building and in the communication of each object.
By permanently questioning the industrial designer’s role in a society surrounded by objects, they try to provide elements to respond to it.
