《色彩的张力》系列作品意在探索玻璃所能呈现和实现的色彩的深度和广度。艺术家Colin Reid在经历了对创作色彩的有意控制，强调玻璃无色的透明度和纯净感之后，重新转向了对铸造玻璃艺术的色彩运用。作品中的色彩经过两次烧制来达到眼前的效果，烧制时产生了如同烧制陶瓷的那种爆裂声，同时玻璃恣意地流动，使得表面留下一层又一层流动的痕迹。作品的造型极其简洁，是因为他希望以最纯粹的方式来表达色彩。

The“Colour Saturation Series” has developed from this experience. The work explores the depth and intensity of colour that can be achieved in glass, using layers of compatible colour between low iron float glass. The colour is fired twice to develop the intensity and cause crazing similar to crackle glazing in ceramics, all of which increase the richness and depth. The glass flows when liquid giving movement and fluidity to the layers. The form is simple as the piece is ultimately about colour.
