上海玻璃博物馆九周年馆庆

岁末年初，一场突如其来的疫情风暴，搅乱了各行各业的正常运转模式。每个人生产生活的“插头”骤然拨落。在停滞了近四个月后，上海玻璃博物馆于逐步开放展厅的基础上慢慢回暖，终于在自己的九周年生日实现园区展厅的全面对外开放。

作为一个与玻璃有着深层次连接的博物馆，只要窑炉中火继续烧着，只要玻璃不断熔化与重塑，我们就能从中汲取信念与勇气，心如明镜，守护光亮，重燃起航。我们相信，正是上海玻璃博物馆互动化、分享型、体验感的展览设计令其突出重围，折射无尽可能。在了解园区的用户画像同时，我们秉持以人为本的理念，每一年都会打造新的各有侧重的场馆建筑，分层级触达各类观众的多种需求，献上种种非常规、不设限的衍生活动。

放眼过去一年，我们在原有建筑改造方面，穆拉诺西餐厅保留威尼斯文化元素，坐拥2.5倍营运能力新空间；工厂商店更名透明时光铺，并搬迁至独立空间，商品的内容有所扩充；由博物馆团队自主运营的博物馆艺术公寓在Airbnb平台上线，入住客人好评如潮。展览策划方面，国际创意玻璃设计展系列生长到了第四期，“UNGLASS撤璃”探讨了玻璃之于人类观看世界与自身的方式；2019“退火”项目分别邀请当代艺术家孙逊与朴庆根首次以玻璃进行创作，为学界业界呈现了《塞上（下集）》与《我与我的镜子》双个展。文化项目方面，从夏夜的“全城交响·上交为你而来”空降艺术广场，奏响经典电影音乐，到冬夜的“玻璃圣诞节”，从艺术化的“打卡点”大型户外装置“霓音”，到谜题剧本“消失的艺术家”，前卫非凡、贴近年轻人想法是博物馆园区活动一大突破；“童游会，不打烊”市集通过手创工艺、互动游戏、零售展示等方式，丰富游园体验；公众教育方面，“局外人”展览游读系列、阐释工作坊及即兴心理剧演出“破碎之光”，展现了公教组对于展览背后内涵的思考；线上公教音频栏目宣发与主题各异的直播，是上海玻璃博物馆贯彻自己公共性教育使命的成果。

2020年6月20日及21日两天，上海玻璃博物馆园区利用其文化机构及消费场所的双重空间属性，在“全民摆摊”时代之中，以博物馆的身份率先“持证上岗”，试行玻璃DIY体验与馆藏工艺观摩的结合，让观众们可以边看边做，边学边玩。

在“互联网3.0时代”，我们将为观众与业界献上一场专业直播对话——“馆长的客厅：学界业界共议疫情后的博物馆”。上海玻璃博物馆创始人、馆长及执行总裁张琳先生与复旦大学文物与博物馆学系副教授，复旦大学博物馆馆长郑奕老师的馆长会谈活动，为广大媒体和观众朋友们带来一场学界和业界思维的碰撞。回顾上海玻璃博物馆的前世今生的同时，探讨了非国有博物馆运营、博物馆定位、博物馆与观众、博物馆教育、博物馆社会责任等多个议题，展示了独特的内省与思考。更有上海玻璃博物馆建立背后的隐秘故事、“博物馆园区”的先行概念、博物馆的国际化之路、从“踩油门”到“踩刹车”的调整再出发……绝对令你大开眼界、大饱耳福。最后二人预告了复馆后一系列升级的计划：改造儿童玻璃博物馆、更多的免费导览、更优质的公教项目、更精更深的现有板块……后疫情时代的上海玻璃博物馆，将以崭新的样貌回归，带给观众更好的、更有“温度”的体验。上海玻璃博物馆将把“人”作为关注的中心，正如张琳先生所言，再好的产品，如果没有好的服务，也不会成为一个伟大的博物馆。恢复和重建人与人之间的联系，始终是上海玻璃博物馆未来发展的大方向。

此外，尽兴漫步在场馆中随时有可能与爵士乐相遇，每个人都可以同现场乐手自由互动。在这后疫情时代放空自我的“周末生日趴”之中，所有人都能在玻璃世界之中纵情放松，“恢复出厂设置”，共度“不插电”的美妙时光。

借疫情之契机，上海玻璃博物馆转而向内，将发展步调从园区向外生长转为向深挖掘，磨砺绽放现有场地资源与园区优势，整合过去之积淀，力求今后之勃发。博物馆自2016年起苦心经营之当代艺术项目“退火”，五年来的成果将在今年下半年进行回顾展。今后我们也会邀请更多不同方向、不同国界的当代艺术家加入其中，从现代的独特视角解构玻璃，撬动这一材料蕴含的巨大能量。与此同时，上海玻璃博物馆的配套设施也将继续完善，从餐饮、住宿、演出各个层面提升观众的整体游园体验，让玻璃的可能性无尽拓展。

“九”即是“久”，“镜传无尽”的九周年口号正寓意奋力当下，终将筑造无限美好未来。上海玻璃博物馆馆长、创始人兼执行总裁张琳先生表示，疫情在世界范围内无论是每个个体，还是博物馆等文化机构都经受很大的冲击。我们可以开门迎客度过九岁生日，便是幸运并值得庆祝的。上海玻璃博物馆将在未来继续深挖现有功能，推进园区内容的升级换代，释放园区空间潜力，在多样化渠道上实现更广的传播。年轻的上海玻璃博物馆将继续秉持“分享玻璃无限可能”的理念，将“成为一座影响世界的博物馆”作为始终追求的愿景，稳扎稳打，长青健康，生生不息。

Celebrating 9 years of Brilliance of SHMOG

Towards the end of last year, a sudden storm of pandemic disrupted every industry, abruptly “unplugging” everyone’s daily routine. After four months of shutdown, the Shanghai Museum of Glass, gradually warming up through progressive unveiling of its exhibition halls, finalized its full reopening on its ninth birthday.

As a museum that deeply mingles with the medium of glass, the Shanghai Museum of Glass gains the power to rekindle its creeds and to reignite its courage from the everlight flame in the furnace and the continuously melting and reshaping of glass. We believe that it is the interactive, shareable, and experience-based exhibition design that endows the Shanghai Museum of Glass endless possibility to break out of encirclements. As we gain understanding of our visitors, we are designing new visitor-oriented exhibitions and activities that target different types of visitors to provide unconventional and unwound experiences.

Throughout the past year, we upgraded the Murano Restaurant for a 1.5 times larger space while keeping its original Venetian design elements; we moved the factory store, now renamed as Glassy Living Store, to its individual space, and expanded the range of commodities; we aired the Museum Art Apartment, an apartment run solely by the museum, on Airbnb, and received numerous high remarks. Concerning the curation part, the Keep It Glassy series exhibition welcomed its fourth episode, where the “UNGLASS” exhibition discussed the relationship between glass and the way people observe the world; 2019 “Annealing” Project invited contemporary artists SUN Xun and Kelvin Kyung Kun PARK, who never worked with glass before to create with glass, resulting in their individual exhibitions, Frontier Part II and Double Mirror. As for developments in cultural projects, the “All-City-Symphony” landed on the Art Plaza last summer and performed famous film soundtracks; the “Glassy Christmas” provided an avant-garde while trendy museum experience for the young with its large outdoor glass installation The Tune of Rainbow, and its mystery-film tour script The Vanished Artist; the “Endless Kids’ Party Night – Bring Out The Child” market enriched a touring experience with DIY program, interactive games, and retail showcasing; the exhibition-reading interpretation series “the Outsider” and impromptu psychology drama The Light of Broken Glass exhibited the museum public education group’s inner thoughts about exhibitions; the online public audio program and various topics of live streaming mark the Shanghai Museum of Glass’s dedication to its mission of public education.

On June the 20th and 21st, 2020, the Shanghai Museum of Glass took the lead amidst the trend of “mass roadside booths”, utilizing its double identity as both an cultural institution and a shopping site: during its trial to incorporate glass DIY activities into museum collection tours, it enables the visitors to make while watching, to learn while playing.

In the Era of the “Internet 3.0”, we presented the visitors and the industry with a professional live conference between Mr. ZHANG Lin, the Director of Museum and Dr. ZHENG Yi, Associate Prof. of Department of Cultural Heritage and Museology, Fudan University and the Director of Fudan University Museum. This curator’s communication brought about a conversation between an industry delegate’s methodology and an academic professor’s ideology. While looking back upon the history of the Shanghai Museum of Glass, this live conference covered several topics including the management of non-state-owned museums, the market positioning of museums, the relationship between visitors and museums, the museum-based education, and the social responsibilities of museums. These insightful discussions revealed to the public the unique self-inspections and reflections of museum practitioners. The untold story behind the establishment of the Shanghai Museum of Glass, the pioneering concept of a “Museum Park”, the internationalization of the museum, and the restarting journey from “accelerating” to “braking” will surely expand your sights and feast your ears. The Shanghai Museum of Glass is planning to upgrade the Children’s Museum, to increase free tour guides, to improve public education programs, and to refine each existing modules of the museum. The post-pandemic Shanghai Museum of Glass will return with a refreshed face to give visitors a better and warmer experience. As Mr. ZHANG Lin said, a good museum will not thrive without good services. The Shanghai Museum will focus its core attention on “homo sapiens”. To restore and to cultivate the interpersonal relationships is and will always be a major direction of development of the Shanghai Museum of Glass.

Additionally, we have provided visitors with opportunities to meet and interact with jazz bands at random spots in the museum.  At this “weekend birthday party”, everyone could get fully relaxed in the “world of glass” and “reset” themselves during this wonderful “unplugged” period of time.

At this turning point marked by the pandemic, the Shanghai Museum of Glass turns its development inward, replacing the outward expansion with inward perfection that would better arrange and utilize existing resources and advantages, in hope of thriving future that roots from accumulation. The contemporary art project “Annealing”, run since 2016, will celebrate its retrospective exhibition. We will also invite more contemporary artists from different backgrounds and different countries to explore and to deconstruct the medium of glass from their own unique perspectives. In the meantime, we will also upgrade our infrastructures, including dining, dwelling, and performing, to provide visitors with a better all-round experience, and to limitlessly expand the possibility of glass.

As the figure nine signifies longevity in Chinese language, the Chinese version of ninth year theme implies a promised wonderful future that comes from the efforts of the present. “The pandemic strikes every single person, every museum and every cultural institution worldwide alike”, says Mr. ZHANG Lin, as such, “it is a bliss for us to be able to reopen and to celebrate our ninth birthday.” The Shanghai Museum of Glass will continue to exploit its potential and to stimulate upgrading. The young Shanghai Museum of Glass will steadily, healthily, ceaselessly walk forward, carrying its motto, “to share the unlimited potential of glass”, further, towards the realization of its ultimate dream to “become a globally influential museum”.

户外市集：“不打烊童游会”

在疫情风暴搅动整个行业，博物馆艺术活动几乎停摆近半年后，六月，无疑是一个破局的关键节点。在今年的6月1日，我们邀请所有博物馆观众和我们一起打破空间和距离的限制，在孩子们的假日之中狂欢！

上海玻璃博物馆园区在5月30日至5月31日，从早上10点到晚上5点举办了持续两天的“不打烊童游会”，内容有DIY工作坊、探险活动、野餐派对、儿童演奏、公教课程等等。在博物馆的艺术广场上，逛逛摊位，做做手工，聆听音乐，享受阳光和夜景！跨界融合的多元文化不仅为玻璃空间注入新能量，也丰富了我们的博物馆生活方式。

After the entire museum and art industry has come into a standstill for almost six months, due to the epidemic storm, the month of June is a key point to overcome the stalemate. On June 1, 2020, we invited the visitors to celebrating with us on the Children’s Day!

From May 30 to 31, 10am to 5pm, the Shanghai Museum of Glass Park hosted a two-day outdoor party for children. The pop-up stands included DIY workshops, adventure activities, picnic, piano performance, courses, etc. On the Art Plaza, visitors could browse the stands, do the DIY bracelets and mosaics, with the background music, and enjoy the sunshine and night views. The cross-bordered culture not only empowered the glassy space, but also enriched the “”Museum Lifestyle.

母亲节亲子瑜伽工作坊

“生命的同频呼吸”

博物馆文化活动中亲子类项目层出不穷，我们总是看到母亲坐在后排观看孩子们，或是坐在孩子身边安抚他们的情绪以便更好配合课程的节奏。在同一段接受博物馆教育资源的时段中，孩子和家长，能否从中汲取相等、甚至相通的养分呢？

在这个戴着口罩的母亲节，美丽依然可以自由生长。上海玻璃博物馆特邀当代艺术家，Y+瑜伽会馆签约瑜伽老师何雨（Vive He），以及声音冥想倡导者Jane，同妈妈们一起，从“监护者”的身份中自我释放成为“参与者”。通过亲子瑜伽带来的身体律动，儿童不仅能发展最初也最为重要的内在感官，如触觉、生命觉、动觉、听觉和平衡觉，其他能力如倾听、回应、图形想象、音乐律动和亲密互动也能在此过程中得到提升。

在博物馆中“动”起来，这个“动”不光指向身体的灵活与肌肤的接触，亦有亲子关系间的流动与沟通。

MOTHER’S DAY WORKSHOP:

The Same Breath of Life

The Museum’s cultural program contains many parent-child projects, and we always see mothers sitting in the back row watching the children or sitting next to them to calm them down, helping them to keep pace of the program. Is it possible that parents not only accompany the children, but also draw equal nourishment from the same period of time in which they receive museum educational resources?

On this Mother’s Day with a mask on, beauty is still free to grow. SHMOG invited Vive He, contemporary artist and yoga teacher, and Jane, advocate of sound meditation, to guide mothers releasing their every role of “guardian” to become a “participant.” Through the physical rhythms of parent-child yoga, children could not only develop their first and most important inner senses of touch, vitality, movement, hearing and balance, but also other skills such as listening, response, graphic imagery, musical rhythm and intimate interaction.

The “movement” in the museum not only refers to the flexibility and body contact, but also to the flow and communication of the parent-child relationship.

“消失的艺术家”

2019年12月31日

结合角色扮演与破案推理的“剧本杀”是一种新型休闲娱乐方式。上海玻璃博物馆根据当前特别展览，创作了相应原创剧本——“消失的艺术家”。2019年12月24日晚平安夜，博物馆内就出现了这样一个推理故事：艺术家和其最新创作的作品消失了，而参观者需要帮助博物馆找到他们……

围绕着“博物馆”的选题，我们设计了性格迥异的角色，比如“艺术家都是宝贝的馆长”、“没有感情的摄影师”、“精通小道消息的记者”等等。他们置身于真实的“展览开幕”现场，作为馆内犯罪“嫌疑人”，和玩家互动。这些NPC（Non-Player Character非玩家角色）由博物馆各部门工作人员扮演，分散在博物馆园区各个场馆，从而引领玩家浏览玻璃迷宫、 “BRKN破碎”特展，H18当代艺术馆等。

参与者扮演的“侦探”需要通过勘察“案发现场”，发掘信息、交流搜证、推测动机，寻找失踪事件背后的隐情。在跌宕起伏的情节中，玩家可以身临其境感受各个人物的心路历程。在游馆过程中，玩家需要认真观察、揣摩和故事相关联的艺术作品，抽丝剥茧角色内心不为人知的秘密。剧本执笔人融入了弗洛伊德经典概念“本我、自我和超我”，而“侦探”必须在三小时内完成最终的凶手指认。此次“剧本杀”活动共吸引了大约400名观众。

在由剧本构造的世界之中，为推动剧情发展，观众们不得不改变原先的参展方式，这个体验从而更为互动、娱乐与深度。剧本杀爱好者转化为博物馆的实体观众人群，扩充博物馆受众的同时也刺激了夜间经济的增长。未来，上海玻璃博物馆将继续提炼艺术作品中可以二次阐释、二次创作的内涵，引发人们对于社会热点或复杂人性的深思与关注，将博物馆以更多元方式呈现给不同爱好者群体。

“The Vanishing Artist”

Murder Mystery Game is an entertaining party game which combines role-playing and investigation. Based on the current exhibition, Shanghai Museum of Glass developed an original story – The Vanishing Artist. That was what happened on the Christmas Eve, December 24, 2019, in Shanghai Museum of Glass: the artist and her latest created work were disappeared, and visitors could help the Museum to find them……

Focused on the topic of “Museum”, we designed various characters, such as “Artists are Treasures – Museum Director”, “Indifferent – Photographer”, “Hearsay Master – Journalist”, etc. They waited at an authentic exhibition opening scene, played the roles of crime suspects and interacted with players. These Non-Player Characters were played by museum staffs from several departments, and scattered in different galleries in the Museum, to guide the players to visit the Maze, Exhibition BRKN and H18 Contemporary Art Hall.

Playing the role of “detective”, the players have to survey the “Crime scene”, unearth the information, collect the proof, suspect the motivation, and find out the truth behind the crime. In the dramatic story, players could go through the situation personally and experience the feeling of each character. In addition, in the process of visiting, players also have to observe and fathom out the correlated exhibits, wherein hide the clue and secret of characters. The playwright fuses the concept of “id, ego, superego” into the story, and the “detective” has to find out the “murderer” in three hours. This murder mystery game has attracted about 400 participants in total.

In the constructed atmosphere of murder mystery game, visitors have to change the traditional exhibition-seeing ways to follow the plot, which leads to a more interactive, entertaining and deep experience. As such, the participants of murder mystery games became the audience of the Museum, not only enlarging the target visitors but also stimulating the night economy. In future, Shanghai Museum of Glass will keep distilling the possibilities of re-interpretation and re-creation of the museum collection, to intrigue the reflection on social issue and humanity, and present the Museum to audience in various fandom groups in multiple ways.

上海玻璃博物馆2019：童声点亮圣诞树

2019年12月18日

2019年圣诞到临之际，上海玻璃博物馆献上一份独一无二的礼物——一棵用2504支风铃做成的玻璃圣诞树。这棵圣诞树名为“霓音”，由博物馆“玻心璃语”团队设计，上海玻璃博物馆全体员工亲手制成。“霓”字形容雨后出现在虹外侧的弧形光环。“音”则表示2504只风铃随风舞动，碰撞出的和谐乐章。

12月7日，上海玻璃博物馆以馆校合作的形式荣幸邀请到了德威国际学校的梅兰芳合唱团。孩子们齐聚于璀璨闪耀的玻璃圣诞树之下，为来往的观众合唱了圣诞歌曲。表演过后，同学们参观了上海玻璃博物馆。知识性与趣味性相结合的展陈激发了人们对于玻璃的好奇和热爱，大家重新领略了玻璃的魅力。

次日，上海玻璃博物馆举办了一个小型的圣诞树点灯仪式。现场热气腾腾的圣诞红酒和丰富美味的自助小食驱散了凛冽的寒风，悦耳的玻璃风铃声响回荡在冬日广场上。

童声点亮圣诞之树，上海玻璃博物馆所筹备的一系列2019圣诞季特别活动拉开序幕。当玻璃圣诞树一圈接一圈被照亮，我们相信新年的梦想与希冀也能在所有人心中持续燃烧发光。

SHMOG 2019：Christmas Choir under Glass Tree

In the arrival of Christmas 2019, Shanghai Museum of Glass has prepared a unique gift – a grand glass Christmas tree which made of 2504 pieces of glass wind chimes. It is named as The Tune of Rainbow, designed by the Let’s Talk Glass team and crafted by all staff of the Museum. “Rainbow” describes the pearl-like iridescent layer applied on glass; and “tune” stands for the harmonic movement which composed by 2504 pieces of glass wind chimes.

On December 7, Shanghai Museum of Glass was honoured to invite the Mei Lan Fang Choir, Dulwich College Shanghai, in the form of Museum-School cooperation. The children gathered under the glittering glass Christmas tree and sang season’s greetings for the visitors and passersby. After the performance, the little musicians visited Shanghai Museum of Glass together. The exhibition that combines knowledge and fun arouses the interest and love on glass; everyone re-discovered the charisma of glass therein.

Next day, the Museum hosted a small-scale lighting ceremony. Mulled wine and finger food was serviced and the coldness was driven by the hot drinks. The sweet sound of wind chimes hovered around the winter’s plaza.

When children’s voice enchanted the tree of Christmas, a series of Christmas celebrating activities organized by Shanghai Museum of Glass made its debut. When the glass Christmas tree was lit up row by row, we wish New Year’s dream and hope would be enlightened in everyone’s heart.

上海文旅局牵手上海玻璃博物馆，邂逅晶莹剔透奇妙夜

2019年10月22日

2019年11月23日，由上海市宝山区文化和旅游局、上海玻璃博物馆和阎华工作室共同策划的“博物馆奇妙夜”圆满结束。在上海玻璃博物馆今年新建的户外舞台上，到场嘉宾和市民共同见证了玻璃与艺术叠加的无限可能。

首先，上海玻璃博物馆馆长张琳讲述玻璃的起源，分享了博物馆是如何从一个冷冰冰的旧工业园区变为互动体验型社区化、国际化的文化机构。随后，上海大学美术学院王沁老师阐述了常见的玻璃认识误区，普及了它的历史与在人类发展中的作用。陈伟德玻璃艺术工作室彭阳女士分享了中西玻璃美学，从西方大教堂，到上海土山湾，再到身边的荣宅、马勒别墅等，指出玻璃与上海这座城市交互融通，已然成为海派文化一份子。最后，上海玻璃博物馆监事长俞旭从科技角度，探讨了玻璃之于现代人类社会的重要意义。除此之外，玻心璃语工作室设计师、钢琴家宋思衡、配音演员刘风与刘钦、音乐人王渊超父女、法国歌手Anne Evenou等汇演人员亲临现场，在讲座间穿插演出，令冒着寒冷前来捧场的观众们兴致高涨，掌声四起。

一个半小时的时光中，观众们不仅得到与玻璃艺术和历史精彩对话的机会，更享受了一系列难能可见的“荧屏”演出。往后，上海玻璃博物馆将继续发挥作为文化枢纽“传承城市文脉、弘扬城市精神”的责任，将更多高质量、高品位的文化活动引入博物馆社区，吸引人们走进博物馆，爱上博物馆。

Glassy Museum Night:

SHMOG x Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism

On November 23, 2019, organized by Shanghai Municipal Baoshan District Administration of Culture and Tourism, Shanghai Museum of Glass and Yanhua Studio, Glassy Museum Night was hosted successfully. On our latest built Outdoor Stage, the invited guests and citizens witnessed the infinite possibilities when glass encountered art.

Initially, Mr. ZHANG Lin, Director of Shanghai Museum of Glass introduced the origin of glass, and shared how the Museum transformed from a cold and old industrial heritage into an international, interactive cultural community and organisation. Afterwards, Mr. WANG Qin, Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts, explained the common misunderstanding, the history of glass and what role it played in human history. Ms. PENG Yang from Weide Stained Glass Studio shared the glass art with audience, from European cathedrals to T’ou-sè-wè of Shanghai, further the Rong Zhai and Moller Villa, elaborating that glass has already immersed into Shanghai culture. At last, Mr. YU Xu, Chairman of the Museum Board of Supervisors, discussed the importance and meaning of glass in contemporary society in the angle of technique. In addition, designers from Let’s Talk Glass Studio, pianist SONG Siheng, voice actor LIU Feng and LIU Qin, musician WANG Yuanchao and his daughter, French chanteuse Anne Evenou brought exciting performance between the intervals of talks.

In this one hour and a half time, the audience had a chance to look into glass art and history, and enjoyed the performance on stage. In future, Shanghai Museum of Glass will play its role as a cultural institution, bring more high-quality, highbrow cultural activities into museum community and attract people to the museum.

 上海玻璃博物馆策划即兴心理剧

“破碎之光”

2019年8月2日

2019年8月2日，上海玻璃博物馆在水晶厅策划了一场大规模的即兴心理剧，活动由赖念华博士带领，毛思翩女士提供特别摄影支持。本次情境艺术疗愈互动基于玻璃脆弱、易碎等特性，探讨了人类生命中挫折、失败和痛苦的破碎之光。

当夜，在专业老师们的带领下，全场近百名人员兼具旁观者与参与者的双重身份，纷纷投入这场特别的戏剧表演之中。当内在的生命事件如困顿、苦境、束缚一一再现之时，观众们重新体验自我思想、情绪、梦境以及人际关系，并跟随剧情的推进，接触、释放、觉察、分享自我的所思、所行与所言。

本次特别活动与上海玻璃博物馆于2018年6月推出的“BRKN破碎”大展息息相关。“破碎”，这个带有消极意味的行为，在各个领域拥有丰富且多变的蕴意，而富有转化为某种积极价值导向的可能性。通过心理剧的方式，我们再一次解析并反思了破碎的意义，并学会拥抱破碎绽放的光芒。

秉持“蜕变逐新不止步”的理念，上海玻璃博物馆在履行研究、展览、教育三大基础职能之上，将不断探索前所未有的艺术活动形式，吸引不同的观众们走进博物馆，深耕前卫非凡的审美体验。

Psychodrama “The Light of Broken Glass” Organized by Shanghai Museum of Glass

On August 2nd, Shanghai Museum of Glass organized a large scale impromptu psychodrama. The psychodrama was headed by Dr. LAI Nien-Hwa and filmed by Mao Sipian. Derived from the intrinsic character of glass, namely fragile and brittle, this art therapy discussed the frustration, failure and bitterness in human life, as well as the light and possibility hides in the broken.

In the night, under the guidance of specialists, almost one-hundred participants, as both audiences and performers, joined in this unique drama. When life experiences such as exhaustion, plight and fetters were put on the stage, the participants experienced their thoughts, feelings, dreams and social relationship again. Alongside with the plot developed, they could sense, release, perceive and share what they thought, executed and uttered.

The play was closely connected with the BRKN exhibition which opened in June 2018. Broken, an act that contains negative meaning, yet possess versatile connotation in various areas, has rich possibilities to be transformed into something positive orientated. Through the psychodrama, we analyzed and rethought the meaning of broken, and learnt to accept and embrace the light behind it.

Followed the idea of “never stop exploring”, besides implementing the basic duties of research, exhibition and education, Shanghai Museum of Glass will keep exploring new artistic event forms, to attract different visitors come to the museum and foster avant-garde aesthetic experience.
